Impact Stories

Feasibility Study of the Project ‘Eye Health Services, Inclusive Education and Sustainable Livelihoods for People with Disabilities in Sierra Leone 2024.

CBM, in collaboration with its local Sierra Leonean partners, prepared a funding proposal for the German Development Fund. The purpose of the feasibility study was to evaluate the foundational basis for the proposed interventions, develop a Theory of Change, assess the capacity of the local partners to implement the project and establish a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework. Three consultants were engaged for this assignment—one from Sierra Leone and two from Uganda. Data collection and analysis involved both qualitative and quantitative methods. The study’s recommendations focused on enhancing the project design, and capacity-building needs for the two local partners were incorporated into the project interventions to strengthen implementation.

Developing the Uganda National Blue Print on Disability 2023-2024

WIND Consult Ltd was engaged by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to develop Uganda’s National Blueprint for implementing its commitments under the UNCRPD. The two-year project involved extensive consultations across all regions of Uganda, where the three consultants engaged with diverse groups, including people with disabilities (children included), parents, district officials, health workers, and education professionals. The blueprint was drafted based on these consultations and an extensive literature review. The draft documents went through multiple reviews by various ministries and district officials. The final version is now awaiting cabinet approval for implementation.
